Privacy policy
This policy covers the SandStill Chrome extension, version 1.2.0. SandStill provides an offline fullscreen sand-art experience inside desktop Chrome.
Information processed by SandStill
SandStill stores the settings needed to restore your experience on this device: playback speed, theme, music and rolling-sound settings, automatic-next and idle preferences, favorite pattern IDs, and your last selected pattern. These preferences are saved in Chrome's local extension storage; SandStill does not sync them to another device or send them to Fred-VU.
Chrome session storage temporarily records the ID and launch type of a SandStill-owned screensaver window so the extension can reuse or close that window. Chrome clears session storage when the browser session ends.
Optional idle mode
If you enable automatic screensaver launch, Chrome asks for the optional idle permission. SandStill reads only Chrome's current active, idle or locked state to decide when to open its own window and when to close an automatically opened window. The state is not recorded as a history or transmitted. Manual launch does not need this permission.
Local processing and sharing
Built-in patterns, sand simulation, steel-ball rendering and optional audio are processed on your device. Audio is synthesized locally; SandStill does not access your microphone. Save PNG creates a file on your device only after you choose the export action. SandStill has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, webpage access or developer-operated data service. It does not read page content, URLs or browsing history. The extension does not sell, share or transmit the locally stored settings described above.
SandStill's use of information received through Chrome APIs is limited to providing the disclosed SandStill features and complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. SandStill does not use this information for advertising or transfer it for unrelated purposes.
Support email
If you email Fred-VU, your email address and the details you choose to send are used to respond to your request. They may be retained for follow-up or legal requirements. To ask about or request deletion of a support message, contact fredvu@fr.catamalin.fr.
Website hosting
This policy website is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information under its Privacy Statement. This site does not use analytics, tracking cookies or advertising scripts.
Retention and deletion
Use Settings → Reset preferences to clear saved settings and favorites. Uninstalling SandStill removes its private Chrome storage. Session window identifiers are temporary. PNGs you exported remain in your chosen download location until you delete them. Contact Fred-VU to ask about deletion of a support email.
